The rule: at least 730 days in Canada in 5 years, not necessarily in a row. Any part of a day in Canada counts, including the days you leave and return.
Your current window ends on the date to check. During your first five years, the second timeline shows the time left before your anniversary.

Yes. Any part of a day in Canada counts as a full day. A trip from Friday to Sunday takes away one day, Saturday.
The calculator counts from your PR date and checks whether you can reach 730 days before your first five years end. It shows the latest date to be back, including planned trips. Still away assumes you return tomorrow.
Some absences can count when accompanying a Canadian spouse or common-law partner, or a Canadian parent for a child, or on a qualifying full-time assignment for a Canadian business or public service. Accompanying a permanent resident spouse or parent on such an assignment can also count. Humanitarian and compassionate considerations may apply. The count here uses your physical presence; check the government’s guide in Sources for those other ways to count.
